Parquet floor layer’s day, Zagreb

Association of the layer-parqueting acts as one of the Cluster Member and organizes permanent education

The Day of Parquet Layers included free education for parquet flooring layers to use their membership to acquire new knowledge and skills. This training was held by the organization of the Croatian Wood Cluster in collaboration with the partner company MAPEI under the auspices of the magazine Korak. It should be noted that very good cooperation with parquet manufacturers has been achieved, and the companies Pan Flooring and Bohor Wood Industry presented their latest products.

In recent years, the Association has organized study visits to factories, and one of the most successful was the presentation and training session held at the company Požgaj Parquet.

Requalification as a priority

More than 80% of parquet makers do not possess the necessary qualifications, though they have many years of experience and high quality practice. It should also be pointed out that trade associations have drawn attention to some jobs having been done in the unofficial economy for years, which has a highly negative
impact on all those companies and individuals that do their business in the proper manner. There is also the need to develop new standards for that type of work where the necessary conditions and procedures need to be specified in accordance with the rules of the trade and the current European regulations, which will facilitate the monitoring of the production of and the trade in these products.
