Organized visit of 30 companies to XYLEXPO fair in Milan
Xylexpo Fair in Milan is an important meeting place for wood processors in South East Europe, where companies get information about technological innovations and market trends in mechanical engineering and wood processing technology. The only similar place, in the opinion of cluster members, is Ligna fair in Hannover.
Over 30 wood processing companies participated in this study visit to Milan, jointly organized by Wood Cluster Viridis from Virovitica and Croatian Wood Cluster. Also, on the same occasion, the participants held a series of bilateral meetings with the suppliers of machines and equipment.
According to the opinion of participants, the members of Cluster, the consequences of the recent economy crisis were present also on this leading Italian technology fair, primarily through the reduced display area. Still, the impressions of most Croatian representatives were positive. The fair attended the technical executives from the leading Croatian wood processing companies, such as Ciprijanovic, Pan Parket, Drvoproizvod, OTK, Quercus, etc.
As the member of the Cluster, Stevo Vucicevic from Jasenovac PIN company emphasized, specifi c agreements with our Italian suppliers of machinery were made in Milan. Zeljko Hudek, a trader and a supplier of machines from Zagreb had intensive contacts at the fair that he has been visiting for many years, primarily as a
representative of many Italian companies in Croatia. Hudek pointed out that, together with the technology fair in Milan, a part of the off er of the Italian suppliers has moved in recent years to Rimini. Apart from the Italian suppliers of machinery, the leading German representatives of machine producers, such as EWD, Homag Group, Weinig, Vollmer etc., also exhibited their products.
