TECHNOLOGY: Polytechnik offers coal production with a high market price of 300-500 EUR/ t
Austrian technology producer Polytechnik has been working intensively on solutions for cascading use of agricultural biomass, and in this case developed coal production technology. Taking into account the fact that biomass of plant origin contains up to 50% of carbon and recognizing the enormous potential of plant biomass, a modern industrial scale technology has been developed that can turn biomass into pure carbon, ie in coal. The global market for organic carbon is more than 47 million tonnes per year (almost twice as much as a wood pellet), and prices range from 300 to 500 EUR/t depending on the quality. Polytechnik’s modern technology enables carbon extraction from natural materials to provide heat and / or electrical energy. The main advantages of such a method are: low emissions of pollutants, high efficiency (1 kg of wood = 0.3-0.5 kg of coal) and short duration, and they are used for energy, construction industry, rubber and plastic production, remediation of contaminated land, agriculture etc. Its industrial solutions and know-how Polytechnik will present on February 27th, at the 8th International Conference on Biomass and Renewable Energy Sources in Zagreb (Hotel Westin) as one of the technological partners.
